Borderless classroom + mobile devices = a stronger educational currency |

If technology is like the air we breathe, then the “Connected Classroom” should be the top concern for educational institutions. Senior level technology officers, regardless of budget, can work with the Cisco Education Division to evaluate and commit to a strategy for its school’s infrastructure.
The Center for Digital Education prescribes a scalable solution for K-12 education is now moving from solely school-owned PCs that are shared among students and used only during specific time blocks for mobile devices that are either loaned to individual students or supported under ”bring your own device” (BYOD) policies. Going from multiple students using a single device to a 1:1 student-to- device ratio by itself will significantly increase bandwidth demand on the school network (not to mention all of the other technologies demanding more bandwidth) – and many existing networks may not be able to support this type of demand.
